There's a voice in the back of my head (No, not a crazy one ~ Just a grown up one). It tells me to choose vegetables over brownies, to do the laundry and wash the dishes. Generally I appreciate the maturity and responsiblity it provides.
But that grown up voice seriously crossed a line when I saw, and immediately fell in love with, a teapot. "It's too busy and colorful" the voice said. "It would look silly on a table set with your grandmother's classic (read: plain) china. It's ridiculous."
So you know what I told that grown up voice? I told her to mind her business, and I went straight home to make tea in my new pot. And just so that grown up knows her place, I sat right down and read a Nancy Drew Mystery.
So there.
you were so correct to tell that grown up voice to hush, for this has to be the perfect combination. I love Alice and Nancy. How fun!

You did the right thing, a fine teapot indeed...and which book, Sign of the Twisted Candles or The Mystery of Lilac Inn....wish I could come over and we'd be chums.

It was the Secret of the Old Clock. Lovely book ~ I'd forgotten how much I love Nancy Drew. Love to have you for tea if you're ever up this way!

Grown up voices are overrated. I love the teapot! So whimsical. It looks like it would make teatime fun. Alice in Wonderland was the first movie I saw in a movie theatre. My dad took me; so I have really fond memories of it. There's a couple of tea houses in NYC called Alice's Tea Cup that are Alice in Wonderland themed. They're a lot of fun.

You did the right thing. I have that same teapot. I also just had to have it. Although, I didn't set it on top of the Nancy Drew books that I have (passed on to me from my mother), rather I set it proudly on my dining table.
