Who would've thought that when I said I'd be back in a month, it really meant two? I certainly didn't! There hasn't been much knitting going on. I started the Beech Wood cowl sometime in early May, and for such a small and simple project, I've only finished about 1/4 of it. 5 minutes a day of knitting time just isn't enough folks!
Which brings me to this: Due to circumstances outside of my control, I am now a 'Stay-at-Home-Mom'. That's my new job title. Pretty fancy, hey? We had a dayhome for Sadie, with a friend of ours. She suddenly decided that she didn't want to do it anymore so we had 2 days to find an alternative, and now, it seems I'm the best fit for the job! I'm sad to leave the job I've had for 4 years (a personal record), and sad to lose my income, but incredibly happy that I now get to spend my days with my favorite person in the world. And there's always the hope that naptime for Sadie means knitting time for me. I may just finish that cowl before the Fall! And fortunately, I have quite a stash to get through before I have to buy yarn from WalMart. Silver-linings all over the place!
The picture, by the way, is from her first birthday party. She couldn't get enough of those mini cupcakes!
