What is it, you ask? Well, it was a post that I began writing a week and a half ago. Every day I would write a bit, delete a bit and then completely forgot what I was writing about. It became a jumbled mess of misspelled words, and perfectly spelled expletives. There was something about knitting, a little bit of moaning about teething, and some cursing of Gripe Water manufacturers for removing the alcohol, because though I wouldn’t give it to my daughter, I could have at least had a little cocktail at 3AM.
Instead, what you get is a rave review of the book ‘Good Night, Sleep Tight’ (on how to get your baby to sleep through the night, which you probably don’t need), and this:
A bad photo of a one-armed jacket. Rest assured, there will be another arm.....someday. It's my 'Not Really the Drops A-Line jacket that everyone was making'. Other than the front panels of double moss stitich, I believe I changed just about everything. I knit it from the top-down, added darts at the back (bye-bye a-line), lengthened the collar, made the sleeve full length with double moss from the elbow down, and changed the buttons from straight up and down to diagonal under the collar. I do believe she's a winner, you know, if I knit up that second sleeve. I used Manos del Uruguay wool in colorway Bing Cherry. It was my first time using it, and frankly it made me really nervous. I like gauge, exact gauge. I didn't know what to do with all the thick and thin stitches and rows, and I worked myself up into such a hissy trying to count up the gauge that my head almost exploded. Fortunately, the need to knit something overpowered my need to have the exact gauge, or I would still be sitting with the swatch and the tape measure clenched in my fists. And goodness knows, we don't need any more crazy here. We're all stocked up.
